About the Founder

Mariano Cinat holds an MFA from the New York Academy of Art and a BFA from the Manuel Belgrano School of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires. He comes from a distinguished artistic lineage: his great-uncle, sculptor Alfredo Bigatti, created Argentina’s National Flag Monument in Rosario, and his great-aunt Raquel Forner is among the most celebrated Argentine painters of the 20th century, with works held in the permanent collection of MoMA, New York, and shown at the Venice Biennale. His paintings have been exhibited in over thirty group and solo exhibitions across New York, Paris, Venice, Tokyo, Seoul, Osaka, Lisbon, Buenos Aires, and beyond. He has received awards including First Prize at the Trinacria Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Palermo, Italy (2014), a Special Mention at the Buenos Aires Biennale (2014), and a grant from the Association of Hispanic Arts, New York.

In parallel with his practice as an artist and curator, Cinat is an educator with over fifteen years of experience teaching at institutions including the Brooklyn Museum, LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art), the New York Academy of Art, and El Museo del Barrio. His interdisciplinary background — spanning fine art, theater, and education — informs both his painting and his approach to curating exhibitions that prioritize depth, cultural dialogue, and artistic vision.
